Spring Fashion Forecast

Spring is in the air and the flowers are blooming. Ladies, begin your sun salutations because it is time to enjoy the spring weather! Spring has always been one of the most exciting times for fashion. Not only does it mean that the Met Gala is coming up, but that it is time to incorporate brighter and lighter looks into our repertoire. The gloomy and rainy winter months have melted away and a new era is upon us.

  1. Let’s start off with the elephant in the room. Yes, florals will be in season for spring. Groundbreaking. Florals are a spring staple and they aren’t going anywhere. Life imitates art. So as the flowers bloom, so will our wardrobes. Although florals can be tiny and demure, they can also be big, graphic and colorful. Florals are a great way to add a print to any look. They can be timeless and classic or bold and avant-garde. It’s all up to how you’re feeling that day.

  2. Next up is a Lizzie Mcguire staple. Platform sandals! As seen on numerous influencers and celebrities, platform sandals are back and better than ever. They are also literally perfect for this weather. They are versatile and go with everything from shorts to dresses to jeans. The sound they make on the ground when you walk is also fun and asserts your presence in the room. Platforms are a great way to incorporate the Y2K style trend into your spring wardrobe.

  3. Neon colors are also making a comeback. Hot pink, aquamarine and lime green are gorgeous hues that make a look so much more eye-catching. While they may seem too reminiscent of the 80s for some, these colors are actually more modern than you would think. Neon has been used by numerous designers such as Versace and Balenciaga. Why not live out your Malibu Barbie fantasy and strut down Campanile walkway like the living breathing icon that you are?

  4. Flowy maxi and midi skirts are also great for spring. They can be dressed up or down and paired with puff sleeve tops or a simple cami. Feeling like a milkmaid running through a field is one of the most euphoric feelings a person can have. Putting on a flowy skirt is the perfect way to romanticize life this season. Maxi skirts also fit into multiple aesthetics and go with so many different looks.

  5. Mix and match prints. Sticking to one print per look is so boring! Why would you want to be someone who looks like they actually tried to put together an outfit that’s tame? Fashion is much more fun if you look a little crazy from time to time. Try mixing big prints with small prints. The more different the prints are, the better they’ll look with each other. If people look at you funny, then you know you are doing it right.

So when you’re looking for a new spring look, consider incorporating one of these trends into your wardrobe. This season, filled with various elements of flourishment, is time for new beginnings and new stylistic choices. There’s always room to explore your own personal style and spring is a great time to try that out.
