If you haven’t heard already of everyone’s new favorite sex toy on TikTok lately, allow me to bring you in.
The rose is a suction-based sex toy and boy, am I her biggest fan. However, it wasn’t always like this and if you read any Amazon review of it, you’re bound to see why a lot of people are having the same frustrations as I did.
My frustrations (and inevitably yours) with the rose begins with the opening. Whoever engineered the small opening did not consider the size of different women’s clitoral hoods. If you can manage to squeeze yourself into its dime-sized hole, you’ll have an easier time enjoying yourself with the rose for its direct aim for your clit. The rest of us penny to quarter-sized people will have to keep exploring with the rose in order to make it work.
My second concern was that it was rechargeable. Say what you want about whether rechargeable or battery-operated toys are better, but nothing kills the mood more than when your toy dies mid-use and the charging period that follows.
Charging your toy is not convenient and I would rather house a 36-pack of AA batteries for the rest of my life in order to stay away from long charging periods. Plus, charging the rose in shared spaces is a little different from charging your AirPods, so keep that in mind if you intend to use it while in your shared double.
Like most people, I’ve turned to toys occasionally as a pre-game to “sneaky links” I knew would be disappointing, or for times when I’ve had to finish the job myself after spending time with exes. With the rose, I felt like it wasn’t an immediate connection – partly due to how much work I had to do to climax versus the experience everyone else on TikTok was saying they were having, so easily.
In terms of sexual exploration, it can be hard to break barriers; especially with yourself if you never give yourself the chance to try. Well, I finally decided to give it a shot, and after two very short videos on Twitter, it happened: I squirted for the very first time ever.
