Club Highlight: Project North Star
Project North Star, a beacon of hope, lives up to its name by shining a light on the lives of those victimized by human trafficking. This initiative was started by its president, Qudsi. Inspired by a moment from his youth when he witnessed parents desperately searching for their missing children in a harrowing anti-trafficking PSA, Qudsi made it his life's mission to combat this problem.
Fundraising stands as a pillar of their mission. Through meticulously planned events and unwavering commitment from every member, funds are diligently collected and then generously donated to organizations that share the club's noble objectives. In doing so, Project North Star doesn't just contribute a grain of salt; it pours its heart and soul into mitigating this issue while raising the collective consciousness around it.
At the core of PNS lies the power of education. The club's structure is meticulously designed to engage its members actively, instilling in them the knowledge and passion to pass it forward, becoming torchbearers of awareness.
What sets this organization apart is its inclusive ethos—every member actively participates, breaking away from the conventional executive board-driven approach. Here, you're not a passive observer; you're a dedicated participant in the cause.
An exciting event to anticipate is the upcoming fundraiser in collaboration with the Aztec Catholic Newman Church. This event, similar to GreenFest, will offer a smaller experience, featuring live performances, exclusive merchandise, and other surprises.
Project North Star is looking to expand its membership base, and they invite you to be a part of this transformative journey. To learn more about the club, follow them on Instagram @sdsu.pns, where you'll find meeting times and locations. Attending a meeting will introduce you to a culture of warmth and unity that will undoubtedly inspire you to join.
