6 places to grab a late night sweet treat in SD

We’ve all been there. It’s getting close to 10 p.m., you’ve got a taste for something sweet and you find yourself listlessly staring into your fridge as if your favorite chocolate shake might appear out of thin air.

Late night sweet treats are no joke, and we at The Look know that stale Pop Tarts are *not* going to cut it. From diners to cafes, we’ve got all the best places to cure your cravings. Who knows? Your new favorite spot might be on our list.

Here is The Look’s list of San Diego’s 10 best places to grab a late night sweet treat. We promise they’ll put a cherry on top of your day.

Rudford’s

Open 24/7, this 1940s themed diner has it all. Although they have a variety of sweets, my personal favorite is their apple pie a la mode.

The Lafayette Hotel’s Beginner’s Diner

If you haven’t visited The Lafayette Hotel since its renovation, you absolutely have to. Tucked in this swanky, sparkling hotel is a 24/7 diner with delicious malt shakes.

An’s Dry Cleaning

This North Park hidden gem has the front of a dry cleaner, but is actually an award-winning gelato spot. Tip: upon your first visit you can sample every flavor they have for free. Open until 11 p.m daily.

The Living Room Coffeehouse

Whether you want to try one of their over 10 frappe flavors, a slice of cake or another baked good, this cafe is a haven for late-night treats. The coffee house also lives up to its name with a cozy, homey dining room where you can savor your sweets. Open until 11 p.m. daily.

Figaro Dessert Cafe
For local, made-from scratch gelato, crepes, pastries and more, check out this spot with locations in Hillcrest and North Park. Open until 11 p.m. daily.

The Baked Bear

Founded in San Diego, this cookie and ice cream spot allow you to create your own ice cream sandwich. All of their sweets are made from scratch. Open until 11 p.m. weekdays. Open until midnight on weekends.
