With Love and Light

Eventually, it all won’t matter.

Something new will take its place,

And just like that,

It never happened.

Of course, it will revisit you in glimpses.

It might be the scent of a person walking by,

A familiar melody playing in the coffee shop,

Or even a phrase that was once overused by someone you miss dearly.

Though, nothing will feel like it once did.

The stabbing in your heart will fizzle down to a slight tug,

The sleepless nights will end,

And nothing will hurt like it once did.

It might have felt like it would always be there,

Forceful and painful.

But one day,

It’s barely a sting.

And then the next day,

It’s barely a memory.

Life moves on,

And you will, too.

With love and light,

You will go on.
