To Aestheticize Your Life

Anyone can see their life itself as the most boring and uninteresting thing in all of existence. But, the truth is, it's all about the way it’s viewed and characterized.

To be interesting, sometimes, is to view yourself a little higher. Think of yourself and your everyday activities as the most interesting thing to exist to everyone around you.

The outfit you wear, the way you walk, the fact you wear wired earbuds because they “sound better”. Let the things you do and the movements you make be cool. To me, to be aesthetic is to prove that you were here, to say that you existed. The little decisions you make can have so much meaning behind them.

For example, you took a different route to class this morning, that’s gotta mean something. If one can find deeper meanings in the small things, then they can value the different aspects of their life they once neglected. Living like this can see its benefits but the issue is where you begin to aestheticize your tragedy; to view yourself as a tragic protagonist is no way to cope.

Surely it is appealing, you could be Dorian Gray, falling from grace and blaming it on everyone else. One can always view their downfall as something larger than themself, but then the game is over. The aesthetic you’ve characterized for yourself is gone.

The road to self-confidence is difficult. Since it matters to you, you should not view anything you do as dull. To yourself, you should be the coolest, most aesthetic individual and hold yourself to that standard. Sometimes the only thing someone needs to do is throw on some music and just exist for a little while, paying attention to those meaningful little things. There’s the goal, to prove your own existence to yourself.
